The college established a green cleaning program as part of Governor Pataki's Executive Order 134, requiring the use of Green Seal approved products. The reporting on green cleaning products has continued through current Governor Patterson's Executive Order 4. Since then, the college has continued to use Green Seal approved products found on state contracts via NY Office of General Services, GreenNY program.

A brief description of the energy management or benchmarking program:

Our onsite Energy Manager handles the energy usage for the entire college in accordance with SUNY Facilities and New York State policies, guidelines and goals. The college has sub-metered its buildings, and continues to add new meters, for electricity use and utilizes EnergyCap and to track our utility bills, and New York Energy Manager (a program of NYPA, New York Power Authority) to track the Governor's Executive Order on energy reduction (EO88). This order requires state agencies to report on their energy consumption with the goal of reducing our source use intensity by 20% by 2020. These analytics tools help to guide conservation efforts to prioritizes energy projects for most impact.

A brief description of the water management or benchmarking program:

Our onsite Energy Manager tracks, measures and benchmarks the water usage for the entire college via Siemens software in accordance with SUNY Facilities and New York State policies, guidelines and goals. The data is collected and reported to the college in order to lead water conservation efforts via campaigns and programs. The tracked information is also passed along to Capitals Facilities Planning to prioritize areas that need retrofits for water efficient technologies such as low flow toilets, cooling tower upgrades, and adding sensors to irrigation systems.
