The literacy assessment was developed by the Sustainability Coordinator in part of Campus Sustainability Month. Questions were chosen to represent various topics regarding sustainability. An email link to the survey was sent as a broadcast email to the entire campus community.

The sample was reached through a campus-wide email blast with a link to an online survey. Those who participated received an email to also participate in a post-assessment after a month of informational events.
A brief summary of results from the literacy assessment(s), including a description of any measurable changes over time:
The literacy assessment proved to have positive results. Students learned more information after attending events, lectures and programs hosted by Sustainability. At the end of the assessment it was found that over 60% of participants improved their scores from the pre-assessment. This assessment was administered after only a short-time frame but there are plans to scale up.
