The Campus Environmental Action Committee promotes environmental stewardship and sustainability by supporting the integration of environmental issues into the curriculum as well as by supporting and sponsoring events to increase environmental awareness and best practices on campus. CEAC may also advise the administration on the environmental impact of campus policies and practices. Members include faculty, staff, students, emeriti, alumni, and representatives from the community.

A brief description of each sustainability office:

The Office of Sustainability at SUNY Oswego works to engage the campus community in adopting sustainable practices into their everyday lives with the goal of being better environmental stewards.

The Office of Sustainability operates within the Facilities Department on major build projects to lower carbon emissions used or made during the production and lifetime of any new or existing build projects.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:

The Office of Sustainability coordinates sustainability initiatives and actions for the entire campus. In the last year, the Office of Sustainability launched a composting program in all of our dining halls and retail cafes that has diverted over 50,000 lbs of organic material from landfills and incinerators; and, received ArbNet Level 1 accreditation for our campus arboretum.
Continuous initiatives include: having a bike share program, coordinating the on-campus sustainable garden, coordinating the maple syrup collection on-campus, working with the Student Association and campus dining to eliminate non-essential plastics from dining, partnering with on-campus dining to host zero-waste events, maintaining our on-campus "Leave Your Mark" writing utensil recycling program through Terracycle.
