The Office of Sustainability recently submitted a study for our campus-wide composting program and the changes we have made with our composting program being a year old. This study was submitted to the NYS 2022 Recycling Leadership Awards through the New York Association for Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (NYSAR3). NYSAR3's mission is "to provide statewide leadership on waste reduction, reuse and recycling issues and practices to improve the environment."

The SUNY Oswego Office of Sustainability was awarded the Educational Institution Award for our composting program (Listed as "Kate Spector, Oswego County Division of Solid Waste")

The Facilities Department of SUNY Oswego has been working closely with SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in the development of our Office of Sustainability. In line with current work on Oswego's Energy Master Plan, Sustainable Building Ambassador program, and our maple tapping initiative, we sought ESF's mentorship as their institution has been building these programs for years.
