The institution has adopted new General Education program effective Fall 2023. One (of two) learning outcome for the World History and Global Engagement category is "to demonstrate an understanding of the structures, systems, and interrelationships among civilizations and cultures within historical and/or contemporary contexts, and their impact on wellbeing and sustainability".

A brief description of how the figure above was determined:
Learning outcomes for each degree program were evaluated based on whether the LOs address the interrelationship of social, economic, and ecological dimensions of sustainability or if the degree program requires a sustainability-focused course. Institutional Research provided us with the total number of graduates from 2020-2022 in each of these majors, as well as, the total number of graduates at SUNY Oswego.

Courses were included based on meeting the criteria for adopting a sustainability-focused learning outcome.
