Yes
None
The charter or mission statement of the committee or a brief description of the committee's purview and activities :
SUNY Oswego convened a Diversity Advisory Board in 2008 which was charged with identifying and providing recommendations to the institution to address issues of equity. The committee membership included faculty from each academic division, students, facilities, alumni and development, University Police, International Education, and Student Affairs. The committee identified four major areas that need to be addressed: recruitment and retention of underrepresented students, faculty and professional staff; curriculum; assessment; and professional development. The committee also recommended that each division of the college should develop a diversity committee to address the equity issues specific to their disciplines/areas.
"Engaging Challenge", the college's strategic plan, clearly speaks to the direction of SUNY Oswego, and is inclusive of the areas identified above by the committee. Thus, the "VIEWS" (Vitality, intellectual Rigor, Engagement, World Awareness, and Solutions) model is the foundation for moving forward.
