The Office of Campus Sustainability maintains several sustainability newsletter lists. Separate communications are sent to students, the general faculty-staff email list, and targeted faculty-staff email lists. Additionally, the Office of Campus Sustainability maintains a Instagram account at @sustainablenewpaltz (https://www.instagram.com/sustainablenewpaltz/)

Yes

A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:

Ashokan Hall (LEED Gold), Shawangunk Hall (LEED Gold), Minnewaska Hall (LEED Gold), Ridgeview Hall (LEED Silver), and the Engineering Innovation Hub (LEED Gold) all have signage in the buildings that highlight specific LEED credits attained.

The Biodiversity Initiative, launched in August of 2018, developed signage at the campus' first pollinator-friendly meadow. This includes signage describing the space as a pollinator-friendly meadow as well as educational signage describing the cycle of pollinator and plant interactions, types of pollinators, and natural homes for pollinators. In 2014, permanent outdoor signage was developed and installed showcasing green infrastructure sites across campus including permeable pavement, vegetated swales, rain gardens, dry swales, etc. For more information about the campus' green infrastructure program, visit https://newpaltz.edu/sustainability/view-programs-and-progress/green-infrastructure/.

Electronic hand dryers that eliminate paper towel use in many campus bathrooms have the following message "High-speed energy-efficient hand dryers are now being used instead of paper towels. One ton of paper consumes 17 trees, three cubic yards of landfill space, and pollutes 20,000 gallons of water."

Sustainability Ambassadors from the Office of Campus Sustainability developed the Green Living Guide for Residence Life and Resident Assistants during the fall of 2020. The Green Living Guide is uploaded below.

The Office of Campus Sustainability operates at text message marketing program to outreach to targeted students with sustainability interests. Several hundred students receive sustainability text messages one or more times per month throughout the academic year.
