Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes

A brief description of the incentive program(s):

Founded in the fall of 2016, the Sustainability Faculty Learning Community creates a community of faculty across ranks and disciplines committed to exploring teaching and course design strategies that integrate sustainability into the New Paltz curriculum, as well as to enhance the understanding of sustainability concepts among faculty and students, particularly those not trained in the sustainability field.

Positive outcomes to come out of each cohort of the Sustainability Faculty Learning Community program include revised or newly-developed courses and programs. All academic schools now have revised courses with sustainability content.

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Faculty members receive a $250 stipend for completion of the sustainability faculty fellows program. Faculty who complete the program also have a great appreciation for the interdisciplinary exchanges and community-building opportunities between Fellows.
