Research was collected through Institutional Research and listening sessions and focus groups were held to understand campus priorities around diversity, equity and inclusion. The link to the Diversity and Inclusion Plan document can be found at http://www.newpaltz.edu/diversity/
In addition, a 2011 LGBTQ Climate Assessment also appears on the website.

Assessment revealed that we could do more to explore different strategies for recruitment of underrepresented students, to increase implicit bias awareness for interview processes for hiring employees, to increase cultural competency education for all levels of the institution, and to explore a campus climate assessment process.

Reports on campus graduation and retention rates and student recruitment efforts are regularly shared throughout the academic year including on the admission website, President’s reports, State of the College addresses and reports or communications from VP for Academic Affairs and VP for Enrollment Management.
