Part 1. Greenhouse gas emissions inventory
A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:
Full Campus Energy Audit (for baseline) as part of our Clean Energy Master Plan (CEMP), study and CEMP completed in August 2023 (Ramboll energy engineers, 3rd party).
Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
A brief description of the GHG inventory verification process:
The GHG inventory was completed by the RAMBOLL energy engineering firm as part of our Clean Energy Master Plan (for baseline); they are a 3rd party engineering firm.
Documentation to support the GHG inventory verification process:
Scope 1 GHG emissions
Weight in MTCO2e | |
Stationary combustion | 10,014 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent |
Other sources (mobile combustion, process emissions, fugitive emissions) | 552.23 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent |
Total gross Scope 1 GHG emissions, performance year:
Scope 2 GHG emissions
Weight in MTCO2e | |
Imported electricity | 1,618 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent |
Imported thermal energy | 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent |
Total gross Scope 2 GHG emissions, performance year:
GHG emissions from biomass combustion
Scope 3 GHG emissions
Yes or No | Weight in MTCO2e | |
Business travel | Yes | 1.80 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent |
Commuting | No | --- |
Purchased goods and services | No | --- |
Capital goods | No | --- |
Fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scope 2 | No | --- |
Waste generated in operations | No | --- |
Other sources | No | --- |
Total Scope 3 GHG emissions, performance year:
A brief description of how the institution accounted for its Scope 3 emissions:
*Business Travel calculated separately from CEMP **Scope 1 Other sources include campus pumps for gasoline vehicle and diesel fuel use, as well as diesel and propane generators calculated separately from CEMP.
Part 2. Air pollutant emissions inventory
Annual weight of emissions for::
Weight of Emissions | |
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) | 0.52 Tons |
Sulfur oxides (SOx) | --- |
Carbon monoxide (CO) | --- |
Particulate matter (PM) | --- |
Ozone (O3) | --- |
Lead (Pb) | --- |
Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) | --- |
Ozone-depleting compounds (ODCs) | --- |
Other standard categories of air emissions identified in permits and/or regulations | --- |
Do the air pollutant emissions figures provided include the following sources?:
Yes or No | |
Major stationary sources | Yes |
Area sources | Yes |
Mobile sources | Yes |
Commuting | No |
Off-site electricity production | Yes |
Major Energy Audit completed during our Clean Energy Master Plan (CEMP).

Additional documentation to support the submission:
Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
CEMP - Clean Energy Master Plan uploaded to the campus Sustainability website. For emissions figures, see Table 1.1 on page 28.
Note: OP-01 requested 3rd party verification of GHG - Green House Gas inventory, which was completed in AUGUST of 2023, as part of the SUNY Morrisville Clean Energy Master Plan (CEMP), via Ramboll Energy Engineering company, based on data from FY-2018-2019 and FY-2019-2020.
OP-02 requests data from our current Performance Year which is FY-2022-2023 (not the same as our 3rd party verivied CEMP data from FY-2018-2019 and FY-2019-2020, report published in August 2023), this difference shows a reduction of GHG over time.
