Does the institution have an on-campus garden where students are able to gain organic farming and/or gardening experience?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the garden:
The community garden was set up in the back of Geneseo's arboretum and is run by The Community Garden group on campus. The community garden started as an area in which students could experiment with the best ways of growing seasonal vegetables and herbs. The garden now contains artwork and a composting area, and the Geneseo Garden Club is constantly thinking of ways to expand and better its techniques. Students are encouraged to participate in maintaining the garden and harvest the produce for there own person use. The organic garden will soon to be moved to the Energy Garden upon it's completion, a new sustainability project.
