A brief description of the institution’s programs that help increase the diversity of higher education faculty :
We don't have many graduate students so we cannot encourage them to become faculty members (we don't have terminal degree programs). Also, 49% of our graduates go on to graduate school, from all backgrounds. Therefore, naturally we have many under-represented groups go on to work in higher education. Although the graduate school isn't specifically for teaching or for higher education, there are several students that end up teaching or working in higher education. Although we don't have an established mentoring program, we also have faculty mentors that naturally help students from all backgrounds pursue further education. We also have a strong undergraduate research program that prepares students for graduate school and to have skills that are related for being in higher education.
