A brief description of the composting or mulching program:
Geneseo composts all landscape litter. Leaves, branches and grass clippings. In addition, pre-consumer kitchen waste from the dining halls
is also turned in to the pile. Material is stockpiled throughout the growing season and turned by machine throughout the year. Typically, the pile will reduce to a useable compost in 18-24months. It is then screened and reused in the landscape.
