A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability (2nd partnership):

RESC provides comprehensive training in a variety of topics in renewable energy, sustainability, energy generation, and others. The center is housed in the School of Engineering Technology (SET) and offers complementary training programs in other technology and manufacturing areas to serve the workforce needs of Long Island. These training often include partnership with numerous community organizations.

For example, in March 2023 the college is hosting a solar PV workshop. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) has launched their certification program for PV installers and Farmingdale State College will be one of the exam sites. This partnership is essential for a successful program.
