Description of the process used to identify the institution’s sustainability course offerings by department:
A thorough review of all course offerings in the 2018-19 academic year was conducted by a faculty member with experience in curriculum, assessment, and accreditation. Course descriptions and available syllabi were reviewed to see if content met the criteria estabilished in the STARS Technical Manual (v.2.1). Additionally, courses were identified as being consistent with one or more of the dimensions (environmental, social, adaptation and resiliency). Further, the list was reviewed by the STARS team for verification.
During fall 2024 all course offerings were reviewed by the Sustainability Curriculum Committee, (overseen by the interim chair with experience in curriculum, assessment, and accreditation.) Departments were contacted directly about plans for future courses and updating frequency of offerings to ensure accurate data. Courses were also still indicated as "including sustainability" vs. "being a sustainability course" based on the presence of one or more dimensions of sustainability.
