Food Waste Reduction Program

Reduce food waste from food production, point of sale, and consumption practices and behavior changes.


A brief description of any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation (if not reported above):

The initiative started in 2014 with the overall goal of waste avoidance. By more efficiently using the food products and making the food products in to consumables, there is greater savings for the Campus Meal Plan which has resulted in significant savings to the campus and therefore the students. These savings are given back to the students in the form of healthier eating options, more nutrition programming, and stable fee structure for the Campus Meal Plan.
