A brief description of the program:
Because SUNY Cortland is a NY State agency we are required to procure commodities, services, and technology in accordance with Article 11 of the New York State Finance Law. State procurement must facilitate each agency's mission while protecting the interests of the state and its taxpayers, on the one hand, and promoting fairness in contracting with the business community, on the other. Preference is shown toward NY State small businesses and NYS certified minority and women owned businesses. Additionally we utilize NYS Centralized Contracts that often use regional vendors. SUNY procurement policies mirror State Finance Law requirements. Within the framework of these rules we utilize local vendors whenever possible.
