A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
The Presidential Campus Climate Committee reviewed the survey results provided by the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS), and specifically reviewed staff, faculty and student feedback. HEDS administered the survey, provided a summary of results and information on how our results compared to similar institutions. The survey instrument included questions about satisfaction with the overall campus climate and how it feels to work at our university, as well as questions about the work environment, diversity, and discrimination and harassment.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The Presidential Campus Climate Committee reviewed the survey results provided by the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS), and specifically reviewed staff, faculty and student feedback. HEDS administered the survey, provided a summary of results and information on how our results compared to similar institutions. The Committee hosted a series of open forums with various stakeholder groups to gather more feedback and seek recommendations during fall 2023 through February 2024. The Committee is in the process of compiling the recommendations to present to President’s Cabinet in March 2024.

In addition to the Campus Climate Survey, employee satisfaction is assessed in decentralized ways through human resources “stay interviews” and through divisional efforts. For example, the Division of Enrollment Management administers periodic employee satisfaction surveys to collect employee feedback on their experience and make improvements to support employee success.
