Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
On our campus, a large group of our employees are represented by the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA). This union includes positions such as Cleaners, Grounds Crew and Administrative Assistants, among others. The salaries and hiring practices for these positions are dictated by the established practices negotiated between New York State and the CSEA. Our campus must follow the pay scales established for the positions covered by CSEA. As a result, many of these positions did not meet the living wage standard. Unfortunately, there is nothing our campus can do to correct or change these practices and set salaries, as they are governed above us.
