In this undergraduate degree program, students study the environment, its make-up, and its challenges. There is focus on the processes that shape the Earth's surface, control the chemistry of air and water, and produce the resources on which we all depend. The curriculum provides motivated students a comprehensive background in the field. At graduation, they compete for positions in the private sector, government, and academia. Or, they continue their education at the graduate level

Geology majors must earn a minimum of 42 credits in required core courses and complete two semesters each of physics, calculus and chemistry. This major offers sound training in the study of the earth and its resources, and equips the student for pursuit of careers in geology leading to professional licensure, and for graduate studies in geochemistry, petroleum exploration, paleontology, hydrogeology, ground water, environmental geology, or sedimentology/stratigraphy

Water resources and hydrology cover a wide range of fields, essentially anything that deals with water. In some areas it’s quantity, in others it’s water quality. You will investigate topics ranging from sustainable use to minimizing flood risk. All of this is built on a fundamental understanding of how the Earth works, and how humans interact with it.
