Does the institution have at least one sustainability committee?:
Yes

The charter or mission statement of the committee(s) or a brief description of each committee's purview and activities:
Green. At The College at Brockport, it’s not just a school color. It’s a fundamental part of our culture. From our classrooms to common rooms, from our lecture halls to our residence halls, our construction projects to computer labs, we work hard to be good stewards of our environment. We understand that a college can’t just talk about sustainability; we need to be leaders, showing a path forward for living in harmony with our planet. That’s why we’ve invested millions in Green projects during the last 10 years and all of the new construction projects on campus, from our Special Events Recreation Center to our Liberal Arts Building to renovations of our residence halls, are built to LEED Silver standards. We run on the power of the sun, the earth and rain. We use photovoltaics to power some of our campus, we gather rainwater for greywater recycling in newly renovated dormitories and use geothermal energy to heat student townhomes. We’re reducing our green footprint through policies that save paper in computer labs, reduce waste through trayless dining at our dining halls, compost, and recycle our cooking oil , among our other green deeds. We’re on the cutting edge of research into the health of the Great Lakes while giving our students the opportunity to put green principles into practice in our Green House, Living Learning Community. Our commitment to a culture of sustainability has earned us national recognition. The Princeton Review has ranked us in their "Guide to Green Colleges" for three years running. We earned a Silver rating in the AASHE STARS rating survey and we’ve been named one of the most energy efficient campuses in the SUNY system on a per-square-foot basis. Green is more than just our school color. We’re weaving this commitment to green into the very fabric of our campus community to ensure that the same opportunities that exist today will continue for generations to come.
