A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups within the student body:

THEME: Works with students with disabilities who are working with the Bureau of Vocational Rehab
o We provide mentoring for all students
o THEME currently is running a social support group for students on the autism spectrum to help them meet new people and connect with other students on campus
o We work with each student to ensure that they are succeeding in their studies.
At this point we have above an 80% success rating in getting current THEME students to meet the Standards of Academic Progress requirements.

Disability Support Services: Works with students with disabilities on campus
o DSS is currently working with over 1,000 students.
o DSS provides academic accommodations for all students they serve
o They also provide mentoring and assistance with classes.
o DSS works with each student to keep them on track towards graduation.

Safe Spaces: A Safe Space is a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students. The Safe Space stickers posted around campus represent identifiable places for LGBT individuals to find understanding and support.

INTERFAITH CAMPUS MINISTRY
Interfaith Campus Ministry was formed in 1967 and serves all persons on the campus – students, faculty and staff – through personal counseling (faith issues, crisis, family, stress, loneliness, communication) support groups and study groups. Interfaith is a link between the campus, religious communities and area resources. Interfaith promotes respect for the dignity of each person and understanding and acceptance of persons of diverse faith, traditions and cultures. Interfaith responds to personal concerns in a confidential atmosphere. Interfaith sponsors the Stark Campus Preschool Child Center, located adjacent to the campus.

A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups within the faculty:

Stark State College has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) called IMPACT Solutions. They provide professional counseling, referral and well-being services to our employees and their family members 24 hours/day, 365 days/year for both work and life matters.

Disability Support Services and Safe Spaces also support faculty and staff, but their primary focus is the student population.

Interfaith Campus Ministry supports the entire campus community.
