A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

Stanford's Welcome Center offers a full-day orientation for onboarding new staff. Sustainable Stanford is given a dedicated time slot to introduce Stanford sustainability initiatives and encourage enrollment in the My Cardinal Green individual action network. The presentation used in the Welcome Center is attached to this credit.

Sustainability is also included in other areas of the orientation. For instance, during orientation:
• There is a presentation on Stanford’s transportation programs, including its efforts to encourage sustainable transportation through commuter incentives, ridematching, free and discounted transit, and other transportation demand management programs
• There is an opportunity for individual Q&A on commute planning and other transportation-related questions
• Free transit passes, including the Caltrain Go Pass and VTA Eco Pass, are distributed to eligible new employees
• There are presentations from Stanford's BeWell program, WorkLife office, and other campus groups that promote employee wellness.
