Stanford’s Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve contains over 1,000 acres of land set aside to support biological research and serve as a refuge for native plants and animals (http://jrbp.stanford.edu/). In addition to the wildlife habitat provided at Jasper Ridge, the university's Habitat Conservation Plan lays out a wildlife habitat conservation strategy for the next 50 years, focusing specifically on the five endangered species that reside on the Stanford campus.
