Does the institution offer housing options to accomodate the special needs of transgender and transitioning students (either as a matter of policy or as standard practice)?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:
We have a special needs housing petition that students can fill out any time they feel a special housing accommodation is warranted. This usually means a single room, sometimes with a bathroom. Students provide written support from whichever department they work with on campus (Health Center, Counseling Center, Accommodative Services). Transgendered and transitioning students are welcome to go through this process if they want, but are also welcome to go through the regular housing process.
We are also now offering gender neutral housing for upper-class students in double rooms in any campus housing. This could also be a helpful option.
