A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
St. Lawrence's Environmental Studies Department is practicing sustainable forest management on the 110-acre Ecological Sustainability Landscape. This parcel is home to 'The Forest Corridor Project,' 'Forest Carbon Project' and 'Locatroph Project.' Respectively, goals of these experiential learning opportunities include forest habitat restoration, carbon sequestration monitoring and establishment of local energy resources. These projects educate undergraduates in environmental sustainability and conservation biology while supporting a sustainable forest landscape on the University campus.
