A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
Through the annual sustainability campus-wide survey we collect commuter information and this percentage is taken from the total number of students who participated in the survey who use sustainable commuting options (i.e. those who do not drive alone). This survey was issued in April 2024 campus-wide, was open to participants for two weeks, and garnered 392 responses.
Of the 231 total student responses 59 indicated that they drive to campus alone. Therefore 172 students, or 74% of participating students walk, carpool, cycle, study remotely or take public transit to campus.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
Through the annual sustainability campus-wide survey we collect commuter information and this percentage is taken from the total number of staff or faculty who participated in the survey who use sustainable commuting options (i.e. those who do not drive alone). This survey was issued in April 2024 campus-wide, was open to participants for two weeks, and garnered 392 responses.
Of the 162 total staff responses 113 indicated that they drive to campus alone. Therefore 49 staff members, or 31% of participants walk, carpool, cycle, work remotely, or take public transit to campus.
