Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes

A brief description of the incentive program(s):

Learning Connections Conference (LCC) is an employee professional development event. The Office of Sustainability hosts workshops around different sustainability themes in this conference. At LCC 2023, we presented two workshops: 1. How do I Relate? Integrating Sustainability into Academic Programming.
2. Land-based Education- Behaviour, Sustainability, and Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being .

The workshops include information, resources, and hands-on training to dive into sustainability for their classrooms but also work. In the academic review of all courses every summer, there is an internal look by our academic department to see how to make more courses either sustainability-focused or sustainability-inclusive through evaluation of the content being delivered. As a college we are aiming to increase the number of courses to over 20% by 2024 which we have completed. We have recently developed an U.N SDG Microsite that will be useful for displaying our sustainability-focused courses to potential students but also provide case study examples of different fields incorporating it into their classrooms.

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

The staff who participate and engage with us in these programs will receive training and resources for integrating more sustainable practices into their work as a staff member or into their courses as faculty.
