Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
The curriculum specialists and academics team worked with the office of sustainability to create the attached spreadsheet listing the college's sustainability related courses.
Courses from each program on campus were evaluated for sustainability content and for sustainability-related key words. The curriculum team asked instructors to self-identify course outlines that were up for review for sustainability content. For courses not up for review, the sustainability team assisted by evaluating courses with sustainability-related key words.
Moving forward, the college has put changes in place to help instructors self-evaluate their courses for sustainability content on a broader scale. We expect future reports to reflect these changes and our percentage of course offerings related to sustainability to rise.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
Our curriculum specialists team has created an evaluation system to capture course's sutainability content more efficiently. This includes an evaluation by instructors and/or by curriculum specialists to determine whether a course is sustainably-focused or sustainability-inclusive. If a course is determined to be sustainability sustainably-focused or sustainability-inclusive, it is counted once in the uploaded list, regardless of how much sections are offered.
