A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
St. John's University student sustainability coordinators and members from Earth Club plant, maintain and harvest produce and donate it to St. John's Bread and Life Soup Kitchen. Every spring the Office of Sustainability communicates with Bread and Life to see which types of vegetables and herbs they prefer. Throughout the harvest season students harvest the produce, wash it, and deliver it to the kitchen at Bread and Life. Not only is the organic garden sustainable, but the weekly donation of fresh produce to help feed many New Yorkers helps those in need.
