SSN College prioritizes the health and well-being of its employees by organizing various wellness programs and activities throughout the year. These initiatives include free dental camps, general health check-up camps, and blood donation drives, offering students and employees access to essential medical services. The institution also encourages physical fitness and stress relief through regular sports activities and periodic student  outings, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

At SSN behavioral health services for estudents include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention support, and workshops focused on mental wellness and stress management. The college provides peer support programs to foster community and connection among students.  SSN College of Engineering provides a dedicated full-time student counselor on campus to support students facing psychological issues, behavioral disorders, or personal challenges. This service ensures that students have access to confidential, professional counseling, promoting mental well-being and a positive campus environment.   Outreach initiatives aim to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health issues on campus. Confidentiality and culturally sensitive care are emphasized to create a safe environment for all students seeking help.

SSN College of Engineering provides students with opportunities for contemplative and spiritual growth through a variety of activities and facilities, including the presence of a Ganesha Temple on campus. The temple serves as a serene space for students and staff to engage in spiritual reflection, prayer, and mindfulness, offering a peaceful environment for personal contemplation. In addition to the temple, the college organizes events such as meditation sessions, yoga classes, and spiritual discussions to promote mental well-being and cultural inclusivity. These initiatives encourage students to balance their academic pursuits with spiritual practices, fostering a holistic development that aligns with SSN's commitment to nurturing both the mind and spirit.

Objective :

  • SSN Institutions is committed in creating and maintaining a community in which the students, faculty and non-teaching staff can work together in an environment free of violence, harassment, exploitation, and intimidation. Hence, any form of gender inequality resorting to violence, sexual harassment and discrimination based on sex/gender is prohibited on the campus.
  • This policy envisages -To evolve a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender-based violence.
  • To ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures.
  • To provide an environment free of gender-based discrimination.
  • To create a secure physical and social environment which will deter acts of
    sexual harassment.
  • To promote a social and psychological environment which will raise awareness about sexual harassment in its various forms

At SSN we follow the National Guidelines for ‘Tobacco Free Educational Institutions (Indian Guidlines)

Guidelines:

  • No sale of tobacco inside the premises of the institution.
  • No smoking or chewing of tobacco inside the premises of institution by students/teachers/other staff members/visitors.
  •  Display of sign boards/warning boards “No Smoking Area – Smoking here is an offence”, of 60X30 cm size inside the institution (as mandated by law) in prominent places such as library, bathroom, auditorium, canteen, playground, entry area, main office, bank, hostel, etc. 
  •  No sale or usage of tobacco in the radius of within 100 meters of the educational institution.
  •   Display of sign boards “Sale of tobacco products around the Institution within 100 meters is banned” prominently near the main gate and on boundary wall of the institution.
  •  IEC materials like Posters that give information about the ill effects of tobacco displayed inside the institutions.
