In order to promote local biodiversity and preserve native herbal species, the SSN campus maintains a nursery to take care of its green belt requirements.
Nurturing Nature:
At the heart of SSN College lies a unique sanctuary—the college nursery, a haven where native species are nurtured and safeguarded. This serene space is more than just a collection of plants; it is a living testament to the importance of biodiversity and a commitment to ecological balance. By cultivating indigenous species, the nursery not only preserves the region's natural heritage but also supports local wildlife, providing food and shelter for birds, bees, and other pollinators critical to maintaining healthy ecosystems.
The SSN College nursery stands as a bridge between nature and sustainability, promoting green practices that align with global efforts to combat climate change. Native plants require less water and maintenance, making them inherently sustainable and ideal for resource-conscious landscaping. By integrating these species into campus green spaces and nearby areas, the nursery contributes to reducing the urban heat island effect, enhancing air quality, and fostering a cooler, greener environment.
