Fiscal Year 2012 was selected as the baseline year for workplace health and safety because it was the first year for which we have access to reliable data.

A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives, including how workers are engaged in monitoring and advising on health and safety programs:

Southern Oregon University's Environmental Health and Safety office provides classroom, hands on and online training for all employees (including student employees), students and the public on environmental, health, safety issues, including ladders, PPE, hazardous substances, etc. SDS sheets are also available online to have accurate up to date information available to all employees. Monthly classroom safety training is provided to employees exposed to greatest hazards and the campus Safety Committee (including student representation) meets regularly to address campus safety issues and initiatives.
