Part 1. Wellness program
Does the institution have a wellness and/or employee assistance program that makes counseling, referral, and wellbeing services available to all academic staff?:
Does the institution have a wellness and/or employee assistance program that makes counseling, referral, and wellbeing services available to all non-academic staff?:
A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
SNHU cares about the overall wellbeing of its faculty, staff, and students and offers a comprehensive wellness program to support their emotional, physical, social, spiritual, and financial health. With a dedicated full-time Wellbeing Program Administrator, there is a strong emphasis on educating employees on the many resources and benefits they have available to them.
The Employee Assistance Program, provided by Anthem EAP, is designed to provide assistance when employees and their household members need help with life challenges. Resources include, free counseling visits, financial and legal consultations, ID theft protection and recovery, and comprehensive online resources. Additionally, students have access to a Student Assistance Program, which provides many of the same services and aids in challenging times.
SNHU's medical plan provides coverage for both physical and mental health of its employees and their families. This includes both in person care and 24/7 online access to board-certified doctors and licensed therapists through LiveHealth Online as well as a Fitness Reimbursement Program and Health Rewards to incentivize healthy behavior. The insurance plan also covers nutritional counseling appointments and SNHU recently partnered with Husk Nutrition to provide a dedicated employee dietitian to its staff. This dietitian provides regular classes, programs, and one-on-one sessions with employees to discuss nutritional goals.
The wellness program also includes financial wellbeing support with access to platforms for both students and employees. iGrad is a free resource for students to provide personalized content and courses to increase financial literacy. Knowledge of Financial Education (KOFE) for employees offers a free online portal that provides access to resources and education regarding money, budgeting, credit, retirement and more. KOFE also provides live webinars and telephone financial coaching services. Each of these resources helps students and employees feel confident about their financial wellness as they find a healthy balance related to student loans, debt management and saving for retirement.
SNHU also provides free, premium access to Care.com, the largest service for families to find trusted, high-quality caregivers for children, seniors, pets, and the home. This helps in creating social wellbeing and a sense of work-life balance within the home life.
SNHU has a group of volunteers that make up the Healthy U Team. This team includes members from across the organization who have a passion for wellness and seek to promote the health and wellbeing of staff. They help to bring awareness to the extensive resources offered and support the ongoing wellness challenges, initiatives, and events that regularly occur throughout the year.
Additionally, there are onsite fitness centers located at each of SNHU’s larger locations for both staff and students to use, weekly meditations, dedicated wellness centers and websites, and a monthly wellness newsletter that is sent out to staff to help bring wellness to the forefront of the workplace.
