A brief description of the campaign:
The Good Stuff campaign is SNHU's move out program, where items students don't want when they leave are collected and donated to local non-profits. It involves many students and some employees to help collect, sort, and deliver the donations. Students are made aware of this program through emails, the Office of Sustainability website, in their residence halls, and reusable signage across the campus close to move out.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
3.2 tons of items were donated with the last Good Stuff campaign, diverting it from a landfill.
if reporting an additional campaign, provide:
2nd campaign
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Save the Chairs has been a program led by the Office of Sustainability . When the university has identified items on campus that are no longer wanted and are ready for disposition, they are put up for sale. The office has hosted a couple of “Save the Chairs” events where hundreds of chairs were sold to staff, students and faculty. Faculty and staff are informed of these events through emails, the Office of Sustainability website, and The Source (our main hub for information at SNHU).
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Save the Chairs is a win=win event for everyone! The chairs aren’t put in a landfill and the chairs are purchased at a nominal fee, which is great perk for the buyers. The chairs are $250 and sold for $20 each. We have diverted 200 chairs from the landfill.
