There is only one student who sits in on the Board of Trustees meetings and that is the Student Government Association (SGA), President. Student Government members are elected by their peers during an annual election period in the Spring term of every year but is not considered an official member of the Board of Trustees.

Faculty are engaged in University governance through an employee association. The employee association negotiates documents and contracts that dictate working terms, conditions, salaries, etc.
Currently, no faculty members from this representative body sit on the board of trustees or have an elected representative on the institution's highest governing body.

The university has a Faculty Senate which is a representative body of faculty who work on wellbeing and work conditions, governance, interoperability, and division heads, as well as advocacy for curriculum trends and directionality.
