Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
For the 2015-16 academic year, SIU students contributed 28,687 hours of community service. They assisted over 50 different non-profit community organizations.
Regarding the field, "Number of students engaged in community service," this number was estimated, as the university no longer tracks specifically the data. The number was approximated with the following estimates:
800 honors students
400 excellence scholars
400 registered student organization student volunteers
1000 Greek/Fraternity and Sorority Life students
200 individual students
This totals 2800, but we believe the range is between 2600 and 2800, so 2600 was inputted above.
