Sustainability.siu.edu is SIUC's centralized sustainability web resource. It is the one-stop-site for sustainability at SIU. It includes the following main sections: About Us, Green Fee, Participate, Resources, with several subsections. Those subsections include history/achievements, Sustainability Council membership, Green Fund materials, involvement opportunities, news, newsletter, plans, instructor resources, reports, and more!

SIUC has a sustainable walking tour which highlights several sustainable buildings and projects that are supported by the green fund. In 2016-2017, we are offering guided Green Tours on the First Friday of every month when classes are in session. See flyer here:

The Saluki Express mass transit system is SIU Carbondale’s answer to parking and traffic problems. SIU Carbondale students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Carbondale community, are encouraged to get on board. For better convenience, the Saluki Express includes an app to track where riders can view bus routes/schedules in real-time via transloc, on a web browser, mobile device, or by text.

A brief description of the navigation and educational tools for bicyclists and pedestrians:
During the first week of school, SIU has a one-stop shop that offers on-site bicycle registration, access to tools and instruction on proper bicycle tune-up care. There are also several Map Boards located all around campus that helps pedestrians and bicyclist navigate around campus. Students can also locate maps online at the SIU Campus Maps page, where students can select which building on campus they wish to locate.

The Daily Egyptian, our main campus student newspaper, has had an assigned reporter to the sustainability beat. News coverage has included the Princeton Review Green Schools recognition, Tree Campus USA recognition, Recycle Mania participation, updates to sustainability research, as well as other sustainability-related news coverage.
