A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups within the student body:
President's Committee on Diversity and Retention addresses issues about under-represented groups for students, faculty, and staff.
The Bias Incident Response/Support Team responds to any concerns about bias towards underrepresented groups on campus, both for students, faculty, and staff.
There is a community advisory committee to help address issues and concerns around Asian and Pacific Islander students on campus. It is composed of students and community members appointed by the President.
There is a community advisory committee to help address issues and concerns around Latino/Latina students on campus. It is composed of students and community members appointed by the President.
The Center for Student Clubs promotes students led clubs that offer ethnic-specific support services and clubs.
The Cultural Center, Womens Center, and Veterans Center all have student leaders that provide programming and activities for these groups. There are student leaders to represent various ethnic groups as part of the Cultural Center.
A class is offered for American Ethnic studies to provide historical and contemporary views on social justice and underrepresented groups.
The Diversity Reading to Understand Multiculturalism (DRUM) book club is offered once per quarter to students, faculty, and staff wanting to gain different perspectives on multicultural issues.
There is a Safe Zone program for underrepresented groups where students can be trained as a "Safe Person" to disclose issues regarding underrepresented groups to. These students wear special buttons to identify themselves on campus.
The Office of Diversity and Retention offers support for students to attend the Student of Color conference and the LEAP conference every year.
