A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

Founded in 1885, South Dakota Mines is located in the city of Rapid City, South Dakota, and is a leading science, engineering, technology, and math university. The school offer bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The campus is comprised of 25 buildings on 118 acres. Current enrollment at SDSMT is around 2,042 FTE graduate and undergraduate students, and the school employs approximately 630 employees. The Museum of Geology is housed on the third floor of the O'Harra building and is open to the public. SDSMT is governed by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
