The purpose of the Inclusion Committee is to engage students, employees, and industry partners on items related to the strategic priority of Campus Culture. This group is committed to promoting a community that welcomes and acknowledges various backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and talents. The committee encourages collaborative dialogue focused on ensuring South Dakota Mines graduates are meeting the demand for STEM leaders in the global marketplace. As of 2023 – 2024 Opportunity for All Design Contest, campus speakers, Honoring Ceremony, lunch n’ learns, campus dialogues, sponsored movies, off-campus learning trips, inclusive pedagogy

The university has implemented the Intercultural Developmental Inventory (IDI) to survey campus climate and campuses intercultural competence. 2014, 2019, and now 2024 campus employees will be offered the opportunity to see their growth. Faculty Development is responsible for providing social inclusion trainings and activities to faculty as the Inclusion committee creates initiatives for all of campus, including staff, to attend.
