Environmental Change and Sustainability Club is a student group focused on educating fellow students about the environment and their impact as well as creating change on campus and within the city.
Grubby's Garden Club works to encourage students to cultivate their own plants and create gardens. From basic houseplant care to planning the building of a campus greenhouse, there are plenty of chances to help bring green into the community for all students.

FY 2021: the Civil Engineering office sponsored the Earth Day Student Challenge contest, During Earth Week, there was tree planting, campus clean-up, an online or in-person poster session for CEE 325 (Sustainable Design) on their design projects to improve city sustainability with people from the city invited, Movie screening of An Inconvient Truth, Annual weight the waste event where we track the post-consumer waste in a visible setting and report how much weight per person is wasted, annual drive to not drive day where we encourage students and staff to use alternate transporation for the day such as bikes, car pooling or public transport

South Dakota Mines Sustainability Committee -- The committee is an informal group of faculty, staff, and students who are working together to help improve the sustainability of the campus.
