Does the institution advocate for national, state/provincial, or local public policies that support campus sustainability or that otherwise advance sustainability?:
Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

There are entities within the campus that are involved with environmental policy, especially at the local and state level. For instance, SSU's Center for Community Engagement pays to run social media campaigns on a variety of issues, including those concerning sustainability. Those campaigns offer information about the issues and encouragement to vote and participate in public policy. Students use this avenue to get involved as well, often moving on to work for local lobbying groups. However, these entities do not take a solid stand on political issues, and the campus as a whole does not recognize a formal political stance on environmental policy.

A brief description of other political positions the institution has taken during the previous three years:

Supported and encouraged community participation in local initiatives such as:
the launch of Karma, free public transportation for students, and the community separators renewal.
