Campus Rec Sustainability Coordinator: Provides beginning-of-semester sustainability training to all new hires, which explains the NIRSA sustainability model, describes sustainability in relation to economy, environment, and social justice, and discusses how to practice it in the workplace and at home. In addition, provides educational tours to employees & student body when requested. Also meets with Campus Rec programmers to discuss and offer tips on how to make sustainability a priority within their program, including purchasing better cleaning products, buying locally made, organic cotton clothing products, auditing current program vendors, and more.

Current Sustainability Coordinator goes through a hiring process to search for must qualified, motivated applicant with the help of a full-time staff member.

Previous sustainability coordinator provides an in depth training on the NIRSA sustainability model, which is what guides Campus Rec's action. Previous coordinator also creates his/her own training and teaches to new coordinator, who then takes it makes it his/her own or leaves it as is.

Sustainability Coordinator is a part-time, paid position at $12.25/hour. Like other programs at Campus Rec, the coordinator is allowed spending on materials and other necessary items to complete the job. Since a large part of the work involves integrating sustainability into other programs, other programs have the flexibility to purchase items they need to contribute to sustainability. A full-time staff member also acts as a mentor and supports the coordinator and contributes to new ideas for outreach.

Residential Life: Community Service Advisors (CSAs) are required to incorporate sustainability initiatives in their ongoing programs with students. This can range from using recyclable products, serving organic foods, or focusing part of the program on a specific sustainability issue. In addition, Residential Life is in the process of creating a Sustainability Coordinator for the department, which will be a part-time, paid student position. This student will assist in marketing sustainability in the student house, providing formal training to CSAs, and working on sustainable initiatives in the dorms. Also, the program plans to create a formal sustainability coordinator for Residential Life.

CSAs must take University 238 (Foundations of Leadership), then go through a hiring process before selected.

The sustainability ambassador for University Culinary Services provides outreach to all topics surrounding sustainability in the program. In addition to providing formal orientation to all student employees for Culinary, they also do outreach to the student body through tabling and seminars, providing education on waste, compost, and the sustainable facilities through Culinary. They are also listed on a public website to answer any questions concerning sustainability in Culinary.
