A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
As with previous years, CEEDS offered an exciting opportunity open to all students during orientation. In the 2019/2020 orientation CEEDS took 60 students on a excursion to investigate and learn about three different local climate solutions: they visited the decommissioned coal vault at Smith and learned about our transitions to clean, renewable power, then to Smith's field station to see our research and engagement with carbon sequestration and outdoor engagement, and third to a local dairy who is doing innovative methane capture.
