Collection of billing data for utilities, collection of data from Controllers office for travel, collection of survey information about employee commuting, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to collect specialized data such as refrigerants. Clean Air, Cool Planet tool is used for calculations, which includes transmission and distribution losses from purchased electricity and upstream emissions of purchased fuels and electricity.

Smith composts pre and post consumer waste and horse manure and bedding at a nearby farm. We composted roughly 1230 tons of stable waste each year and 257 tons of food waste in FY16.

We have entered 0 into "waste generated in operations" because our solid waste waste goes to a waste-to-energy plant operated by Covanta. When we input our tons of solid waste into the CACP calculator in the 'mass burn' section, we receive a negative number of 23.1, which is a carbon savings. There is no option to enter a negative number into the data field, so we enter 0. We received guidance on this from Jennifer Andrews, project director of the Sustainability Institute at UNH.
