A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
Sustainability has been incorporated in the orientation that every new employee receives from HR, due to a collaboration between the Office of Campus Sustainability and Human Resources. As part of their orientation, new employees view a slideshow presentation about various aspects of campus life, which includes slides on sustainability. These slides let employees know that sustainability is a priority for Smith and they are part of achieving those goals. Slides also go over recycling guidelines, encourage employees to bring their own reusable items to work like bags and coffee mugs, encourage them to reduce energy use by shutting off lights, computers, etc., and encourage them to commute sustainably, including information on our parking-opt out program.
