A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:

Slippery Rock University's facilities and planning department has several Club Car electric utility vehicles in its fleet of maintenance vehicles; the vehicles provide a quiet, smooth ride, emit no pollution, and will help the department deploy a more sustainable maintenance operation. Three electric vehicles purchased last year replaced the use of gasoline-powered pickup trucks. Approximately 150 gallons of biodiesel fuel were produced last year from waste cooking oil (from campus dining halls) and is being tested out on the tractor used at the Storm Harbor Equestrian Center.
