Yes

14.60

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
SFU's employee engagement survey was conducted between November 22nd and December 6th, 2017. As this was the first institution-wide survey of its kind, SFU piloted the survey with full time continuing employees in both the Vice-President Finance and Administration portfolio as well as the Vice-President Advancement and Alumni Engagement portfolio. The anonymous survey was distributed and managed online by BC Stats and consisted of 77 questions and 1 open ended-comment question.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
Workplace learning, recognition, workload and stress, as well as senior level leadership received lowest scores and were identified as opportunities for institutional improvement. SFU is currently engaging its staff by establishing an Engagement Survey Focus Group to incorporate staff ideas and suggestion for how SFU can improve employee satisfaction.
