|1.00 / 1.00
Program Coordinator, Campus Sustainability
Percentage of new employees (faculty and staff) that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:
A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
Each new employee spends half a day going through new employee orientation. During orientation, there is a permanent information section on sustainability on campus (just like the sections on environmental health and safety, union rights, etc.). This overview covers how sustainability is integrated into the university planning framework, core values, SFU's Sustainability Policy (GP38), and how employees can become involved in sustainability initiatives in the work place through programs such as Zero Waste and Sustainable Spaces.
